It’s Derby time again
and time to get out that fabulous hat with a mint julep in your hand. This
year marks the 144 th celebration of this spectacular event which started in 1875!
The Kentucky Derby is the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, and is followed by the Preakness Stakes on May 19 and the Belmont Stakes on June 9. The 1 1/4-mile race runs on a dirt racetrack at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
